Stand-Up comedy course

This highly interactive stand-up comedy course will help you to master the art of storytelling, joke-writing and presenting on stage.

We train over 500 people each year in stand-up comedy – our courses are the most practical, most fun and most time efficient!!

Course overview

Master stand-up comedy and be a better storyteller on stage, at work, and socially!

This course is extremely practical and will give you a lot of tools to use straight away.

You will learn the science behind jokewriting, dive deep into your personal style of humour, learn a large number of joke structures and writing techniques, create your own set, practice with a mic, and learn the art to crowdwork.

Best of all, you will grow your stage presence, confidence, and ability to wow others in a range of settings.

As an added bonus, course participants can join our exclusive show in Newtown - the Stand-Up Comedy Championships. No extra cost.

This course is the most practical and time-efficient course in Sydney! In just 2 workshops, you will master stand-up comedy.

Topics include:

• Joke-writing: We will teach you the structure of a joke and how you can maximise laughs.

• Storytelling: You will become more confident in telling stories that resonate with audiences.

• Stage presence: We will help you to improve your presence when on stage and in social situations.

• Crowd work: Gain new skills in how to better interact with crowds.

• Scriptwriting: Learn techniques that will improve your writing ability and creativity.

• Public speaking: Gain new public speaking skills that will improve your timing, delivery and confidence when on stage and speaking with others.

Duration

This course is held over two consecutive weeks. Ie the day and time listed, and the exact same day and time 7 days later. (NOTE: for our course on 6 June, the second session is held 14 days later on 20 June). Class is 2.5 hours per session (total 5 hours).
