PsyconFest comes back for its 11th edition with an exciting release party for Othrship's new single Normalise and Leah (Kyoshi) and Grace Barr on support.

Othrship is a space themed progressive, psychedelic, jazz rock band from Eora/Sydney. Henry Manuell created Othrship as his creative escape, expressing the full range of his musical abilities and journey through the labyrinth of his own mind. Othrship is a musical voyage that transcends boundaries and conventions, fusing influences of the likes of David Bowie, Tame Impala, and Silverchair into a distinctive and mesmerising sound.

Their upcoming single Normalise continues the story first told with the We Are Explorers trilogy depicting an alien crew tasked with the impossible mission to find a new home planet for their people. Following the release of the track, a single launch party will be held at The Botany View Hotel, Newtown, NSW (Australia).

Leah (Kyoshi): Working on stolen Gadigal land, Kyoshi have emerged with a distinctive crossover sound of London jazz and psychedelic soul - that soulfully stimulates both the mind, body and spirit. Grounding their sound in nu-jazz and future-soul, the band's tight rhythms and honey drenched harmonies will send you sonically to the moon and back. Front lady Leah presents a stripped back Kyoshi set, emphasising the soul and sensitivity of her lyricism and touch. Tantalising the senses with her unique voice through her expressive and honest delivery.

Grace Barr is a Sydney based songwriter & musician from Northwest UK, her music style is inspired by Appalachian & Northwest English trad music, Pop, and New Orleans Jazz. She has performed at Tropical Fruits Festival, The Bearded Tit, Imperial Hotel, Red Rattler Theatre, Alleghany Jubilee (NC), Sydney World Pride, Powerhouse Museum, The Huxleys Bloodlines Exhibition at Carriageworks, Low 302 and Kangaroo Valley Folk Festival. She will be performing with Hinano Fujisaki on Saxophone and Yolanda Frost on drums.

"Othrship’s mission is to be otherworldly. [..] “Normalise” is a head trip and where that will lead us, artists and listeners, is still up in the air" Alt77
