Feeling intimidated by the idea of researching? Perhaps you’re delving into historical fiction for the first time, or you’re unsure of where to start finding out about your latest character’s unusual profession. This practical course will take the mystery out of researching for prose writing, guiding you step by step through the process – from finding inspiration, to identifying useful sources, and navigating the wild world of information including historical archives, libraries, reddit, social media, and academic journals. Finally, we’ll cover handy tips for managing the material you’ve unearthed, and ways to harness it to breathe life into your writing.
