Ticket provides entry to talk, the MCA's major summer exhibition, 'Julie Mehretu: A Transcore of the Radical Imaginatory' and all other current exhibitions
Dr Adrienne Edwards joins the MCA Australia and the Power Institute for an inspiring talk on the work of Julie Mehretu, one of America's most celebrated artists in contemporary abstraction.
As Associate Director of Curatorial Programs at the Whitney Museum of American Art and co-author of Julie Mehretu (2019), Edwards will discuss Mehretu’s distinct approach to abstraction, considering the role of line, blur, colour, and pixel in her practice.
Presented alongside 'Julie Mehretu: A Transcore of the Radical Imaginatory', the MCA’s major summer exhibition, the talk will be followed by a Q&A.
Co-presented with the Power Institute as part of the Visual Research Program, a collaboration that engages with new ways of researching contemporary art and visual culture.
