Greg Thomas’ artistic journey began after a 45 year career in construction and a lifelong participation and interest in sport.

Growing up on his family orchard and vineyard, to his present Tomalong Christmas Tree Farm, Greg has enjoyed all aspects of life out of doors.

Greg began his study of art when he enthusiastically embraced the courses taught by the late American artist, Myron Barnstone. For thirty three years Barnstone was a proponent of a very structured approach to the teaching of art. Barnstone’s concept of colour theory was of particular fascination and Greg continues to be heavily influenced by these techniques.

His next training was when he became a student under Elizabeth Green. Greg has undertaken three years of study in Drawing and Painting at her studio, The Kenthurst Art Shed. His first art work sales came in 2022 in exhititions curated by Elizabeth. Her holistic approach to the teaching of Art has been fundamental to the make up of Greg’s debut solo exhibition.
